Isolated, But Not Alone 2022

These are leaves and flowers, collected from our neighbors during the pandemic while I was trying to keep my five year old son engaged and learning in a world we were becoming increasingly isolated from.

I took these small, fragile, beautiful things, and put them in a bubble surrounded by emptiness.

If you look closely you will see beauty in the tiny, intricate details. In this forced isolation we are better able to examine the details of mundane things. In doing so we might find beauty, or magic, or hope.

The titles for each piece come from journal entries made during the same period.
